The Newport Bay Club Hotel is absolutely lovely. It has definitely done an amazing job with the nautical theme, particularly in making the corridors look like those straight out of a ship. The room we stayed in was clean and a member of the housekeeping team came in everyday to replace the towels and complementary toiletries. We spent so little time in our room that I’m not entirely convinced that it is worth the extra money for a superior room or one with a better view. By all means splash out if you wish, but what you save on the hotel you could spend in the park; it wouldn’t be much, however every little bit of extra money will help out with souvenirs.
The addition of the swimming pool was brilliant. Our second day at the park we spent a bit of time cooling off in the outdoor swimming pool, which was nice and quiet. The indoor swimming pool was busier, and the water was warm, almost the temperature of a bath. The hotel supply towels for you to use (a fact that i would have found useful to know beforehand) as well as floats, which kids and adults alike were enjoying.
Travelling between the hotel and the park was really easy. We could either get the shuttle bus or walk. The walk didn’t take more than fifteen minutes and followed a path beside the lake, it was a nice route to take in the mornings when the sun was shinning on it. The shuttle was easy as well, but we always seemed to be waiting for it to arrive, maybe we were just unlucky enough to just miss it every time as the bus arrived every fifteen minutes.
