I can honestly say that in my experience, this “Extra Magic Time” as Disney advertise doesn’t really exist. Both mornings that we were at the parks the gates opened to those who weren’t staying at the hotels a lot earlier than nine.
Also, a large amount of the rides aren’t open until the park’s opening time, so other than eating breakfast and meet and greets (which still have very long queues) there isn’t a lot to do before opening time anyway.
To be fair, we went during term time, so this might be different during school holidays when there are more visitors.
