Harry and I were amazed by the parade and firework display. I had heard that they had revamped it for the 25th anniversary celebrations, but they surpassed my expectations. The music was very upbeat, you could see members of the audience dancing along and it uplifted some spectator’s moods after they had been sitting down for so long to save their place. The actors kept their energy up until they disappeared (a difficult feat, I am sure), acting out moments with the others and interacting with the children.
If you wish to have a spot by the edge of the road to watch the parade you will need to start standing or sitting, there very early on. Our final day, when we were in the park, people began lining the streets over an hour early. However, if you get there a bit later like we did on the first day, the crowd is a bit more sparse towards the end of the parade route.
The fireworks are aptly named “Disney Illuminations”. This is because it is not simply a firework display, but incorporates light displays, as well as using scenes and music from well-known films using projectors. I won’t say much about them for fear of ruining the display, but Harry’s favourite was definitely the Star Wars section.
